Law Brewing is a small, stylish craft beer producer based in Dundee, and aiming to take the country by storm. With an ever-evolving range of hand-crafted, delicious IPAs, Pils and Stouts, every care has been taken to make refreshing, engaging beers that will delight bottle after bottle.
With a very strong design ethos and attention to detail, Head Brewer and Owner, Danny Cullen is part of the movement to upset the mainstream beer market with hand-crafted, small-batch beers where flavour and experience are at the heart, rather than mass-produced beers, brewed for the money.
The Brief
To boost themselves from local heroes to national wonders, Law Brewing needed a fresh, clean website that echoed their style, beliefs and showcased their beers to the highest level.
At the heart of the site was an eCommerce site, where they could market and sell their beers directly to the public, using a no-nonsense platform to sell on. Beer sales are built on repeat sales, so we had to think about ways to keep people loyal.
With the craft beer explosion filling the marketplace with small suppliers, Law Brewing wanted a way to stand out, to make their site visually appealing and memorable. They wanted their personality stamped all over it so that the identity on the beer bottle linked directly back to the site.
Deliverables
Web Design and Development – Law Brewing needed a modern, fresh site that really showed off the high quality of the products they had to offer. They wanted to splash their personality all over the site and make it all tie together.
Digital Marketing and SEO – With a highly competitive market, it was important to get Law Brewing started out with good SEO practices so that their beers would be visible in online searches. Social media would also play a large role in the promotion of their beers.
eCommerce – The website would predominantly be a way for them to boost sales directly through online purchases, so they needed a strong, reliable eCommerce platform integrated into their new site.
Motion Graphics – To ensure the bold colours and designs of the beer bottles jumped out from the site, we agreed to incorporate motion graphics to show the changing labels of the bottles and bring a fresh, modern appeal to the site.
Secure Managed Web Hosting – To ensure the new site ran as quickly as possible and that their information and their customer’s information was secure, Law Brewing took up our hosting product. With our daily backups and sterling customer service, they never need to worry about losing business from their site going down.
Our Solution
Our system of deep-diving into a clients brand and products was a wholehearted pleasure. First, of course, we had to sample all the beers to make sure that they were up to our standards and I am pleased to say that they blew us away. And so did their branding.
Law Brewing already had a very strong product brand, with a look and ethos behind it created from a love of Modernism. Mod culture is all about style, about looking sharp and we needed to take this on board and create a site that reflected this cool, crisp image, a site that showcased the colours and designs of the beers to their very best.
This is when we suggested using graphics for Law Brewing. To add a little pop and flair to the site, we had the vision of overlaying their labels as they are a similar design but with distinct colours. We also wanted to create a really clean site, so that the unique designs of the brand really stood out, so we went with white backgrounds, a lot of open space and a focus on the colours of the brand.
The eCommerce site was also of crucial importance and the real driving force behind the site. In order to sell to a wider market, Law Brewing needed a stable sales platform where customers could instantly purchase their beers. A lot of expansion of smaller-scale companies in the food and drink industry grow their business with repeat custom, so we added a My Account section that would remember customers and their past purchases, so that repeat orders would be incredibly straightforward to purchase.
All of this stunning design needed to be backed up with strong keyword research to get the SEO perfect. Craft beer has become a hot market and to get Google to recognise Law Brewery and ensure they hit all the right keywords, we had to do some extensive keyword research to ensure their online presence had a sound base.
A stylish, simple to use eCommerce site, bursting with personality, Law Brewery are now able to use their online presence to boost their sales and start to spread their good word throughout the nation.
